Prayer of Intercession for Ministers of the Gospel

I thank you my Father that the men and women who are responsible for ministering the gospel are gifts given to us from your heart. These ministry gifts have been sent to perfect the Saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Therefore, as I stand in the gap for these ministers, I am asking in the name of Jesus, that you would give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you; the eyes of their understanding would be enlightened.

Father, I ask that you would anoint them with fresh oil. Make them a flame of fire for Your glory. May they open up their mouths with boldness and unfettered eloquence, and may those in attendance see Jesus manifested. I pray these ministers would be a testimony of the power of God and a living epistle. May their sickle be so sharp, that not one would be lost, but all those in their midst would be saved and come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord. Heavenly father, I am asking that you would make their mouths like a sharp sword. In the shadow of your hand hide them and make them like a polished arrow.

May your word flow forth like a river from the hearts of your ministers to all of those who are in attendance and need a spiritual refreshing. I also pray that the ears of the listeners would be open to hear accurately what the Spirit of the Lord is saying. I thank you Father for these men and women that you have appointed. I pray that they will fulfill their purposes as they walk humbly before you with clean hands and a pure heart. No hostile power would overcome these ministry gifts, and no weapon formed against them will prosper in the name of Jesus. The enemy will not prevail, for the word of God will have free course and they will be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men.

May Your ministers come to know and understand your heart. May they see as you see, love as you love and desire what you desire. I pray that you would give them wisdom to discern what is in their own heart and mind, and what is in your heart and mind. Keep your ministers close to you, and the same measure they minister to others, may your love and patience be ministered back to them. Father, maybe come to know and understand the love you have for them and may the knowledge of this love casts out all fear in their hearts and lives. Made the fullness of these ministry gifts be unwrapped and I pray that they would operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit that constitute the office that they are called. Amen.
